The power of the phone in our pockets!

“iPhone Beats BlackBerry in Its Own Backyard”

Whether most of us want to believe it or not, the Android and iPhone markets are dominating the Blackberry world. If people do not mentally believe it, then hopefully this article that I found sheds some more light on it. An excerpt from the article mentions,

iPhones outsold RIM's BlackBerry phones in Canada for the first time last year, according to recently compiled data. The news is yet another stinger for the Canadian phone maker, which suffered a series of setbacks in 2011 and now faces a long, hard push to release BlackBerry 10, expected later this year. Until then, momentum for rival platforms iPhone, Android and Windows Phone could mount.

In 2008-2010, Blackberry’s sales beat out Apple’s iPhone and for the most part, many people where satisfied. With new services offering the iPhone (ie Verizon, Sprint) the globally popular mobile device began expending, and it seems like most Canadians were slowly converting. Can we blame them? This phone in 3g and 4g is able to compute information at extraordinary speeds and has memory and storage capabilities one can only imagine.

Yes, we may argue that the Blackberry can do the same (and I know because I was a BB owner for several years), but I must admit that these devices are equipped with the ability to perform tasks that I can say my Blackberry just could not amount up to. This article mentions the new release of RIM’s Blackberry 10 which should be some competition for Apple *sits backs and sips tea*…. We shall see how this comes out.

  1. Apple has proven that it is indeed in the driver's seat when it comes to technology. Apparently, they take the lead and others follow.
